Cycling a fish tank
July 9, 2008
The waste from the fish will turn into ammonia what will make a fish very sick and poorly. So friendly bacteria eats the ammonia and turns it to nitrite and more friendly bacteria it turns it into nitrate.
The bacteria lives in the filter but when the fish tank is new there isn’t any. It builds up naturally so that there is enough for the amount of fish you have in the tank.

Panda Cory
You get rid of the nitrates by changing the water.
You can also get algae in the water but you can get fish that will eat it. Suckermouths and Corydoras will eat algae and scavenge, helping to clean the tank.

I have no fish in my dream aquarium. In fact I have no aquarium at all, so when I see you the next time you have to teach how. Is it possible to have a crocodile in an aquarium?

What a neat idea for a blog, well done Matilda. If you want to learn more about pH you might like my blog article. pH can be a difficult subject! All the vest best with your tank: http://wp.me/ptM2P-4
